Back on the Ranch: Beckman team takes the field at Angel Stadium

The Beckman High School baseball team participated in a community service project at Angel Stadium last weekend, working the tables and shagging balls at the Angels Groundskeepers 8th annual Thanksgiving Holiday Canned Food Drive. During the event fans had the opportunity to step up to the plate and take a swing for the fences, in return for a donation of two cans of food per swing. Fans also had the opportunity to test their pitching skills in the Angels bullpen for a donation of one canned food item or $1 per pitch. All proceeds from the event went to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County in the fight against hunger during the holiday season. Beckman head coach Kevin Lavalle was proud that he and the boys could be part of helping out such a great cause. For more information about Second Harvest, visit www.feedoc.org.
