Christmas Tree Lot Security RV
|
This event occurs on the night of December 3rd, once the Christmas Trees have been delivered to Beckman’s main parking lot. You will need to spend the night in your RV, thereby providing security for the trees until the next morning. At least 1 parent or guardian must remain in the RV overnight. This task satisfies a family’s additional 2 volunteer requirements for the year.

Annual BBQ
|
This potluck event is tentatively scheduled for TBA at the Varsity Field. Tasks include: setting up; grilling hotdogs and hamburgers; cleaning up; and organizing cases of water, Gatorade or Propel in the baseball shed. All families are required to bring an item to the BBQ. Additionally, all families are required to bring 1 case of water and 1 case of Gatorade and Snack Bar items. More information to come.

First Pitch Dessert
|
This event is scheduled for TBA in the Commons. This dessert potluck serves as a kickoff to the season. Coaches and players from all 3 teams will be introduced. Tasks include: organizing what dessert each family is to bring; designing flyers for the event; setting up and cleaning up. All families are required to bring a dessert, drinks or supplies. Team Parents
|
This opportunity is ongoing throughout the year. You will be the main liaison for your team with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Baseball Program. The Varsity Team Parents will chair the 3 planned Varsity Team Dinners, coordinating with the host families. The JV and Freshman Team Parents will chair any of their respective team functions or events planned, coordinating with their respective team families in organizing duties and responsibilities. You will also be responsible for implementing a chain of information procedure for your respective teams and Snack Bar coverage. This task satisfies a family’s additional 2 volunteer requirements for the year.

PA Announcer
|
This opportunity occurs at home games only. A PA Announcer is needed for both Varsity and JV teams. This task involves announcing each player’s name before his respective at-bat and confirming before each game that you have obtained the correct pronunciation of each player’s name. You will need to be available to announce at each home game.

In-Game Music Director
|
This opportunity occurs at home games only. An In-Game Music Director is needed for both the Varsity and JV teams. This task involves obtaining each Beckman player’s desired “walk-up” music to be played over the loud speaker as the player approaches the plate for his at-bat. You will also need to obtain other appropriate music to be played between innings of the game. You will need to be available to play music at each home game.

Varsity Team Journalist
|
This opportunity is ongoing throughout the year. You will write a game recap after each game to be proofed by Coach Lavalle before being submitted to our contact at the OC Register for coverage in the newspaper of our Varsity team during the season.

Web Site
Team Highlight Reporters
|
This opportunity will be ongoing throughout the year. A reporter for each team will provide a recap after each game to include: Score, highlights and photos (if any) of each game. You will work with our Web Master regarding format and method of delivery.

Banner Sales
|
This opportunity is ongoing throughout the year, with the bulk of the time occurring before the season starts. Tasks include: cleaning all renewed existing banners; hanging new banners; and removing any non-renewed banners. During the season, periodic maintenance will become necessary when any banner rips or otherwise becomes damaged and needs to be repaired and re-hung. Chairperson will review all artwork received from banners sold; submit orders to and approve invoices from the banner company.

Program Merchandise
|
This opportunity is ongoing throughout the year. Tasks include: interfacing with Coach and the Booster President in the design and purchase of the current year’s merchandise; sorting and organizing the merchandise when it arrives; and arranging for the sale of all excess merchandise at all Baseball Program events during the year.

Community Service Hours Coordinator
|
This opportunity is ongoing throughout the year. As an example: You will be responsible for coordinating the TELL Challenger Day and Think Pink Varsity Game events at which our players can participate in local community interest activities. This allows our players to obtain important community service experience for which colleges are looking for. You will also be responsible for keeping records of each player’s hours they have volunteered and develop a certificate of participation to document their activity.

Casino Night
|
This event is set for February 25 and will incorporate live and silent auctions as well as raffle donations. Tasks include: locating an event site, marketing and advertising of event; collecting RSVPs and money; soliciting donations and auction items from the Baseball families other community businesses for the auctions and raffle; preparing descriptive signs for the items; organizing the items at the location; arranging for food; setting up; and cleaning up.

Snack Bar
Chairperson
|
This person and their staff will be responsible for the total operation of the Snack Bar. This includes: staffing, purchasing, cash box, storage of items, collecting the water and Gatorade from the baseball family’s donations and selling items during Varsity Home games.

Senior Recognition
|
This event is set for TBA at the final Varsity home game. The parents of our senior players and school administration will be invited to participate in a pre-game ceremony to pay tribute to our senior players. Tasks include: designing and sending out invitations; coordinating with the Beckman’s administration and Band; ordering plaques for the players and buying flowers and other event activities.
A Varsity team Junior Class parent is preferred for the Chairperson position.

Pancakes with the Patriots
|
This event is tentatively scheduled for TBA at Beckman. It is a pancake breakfast where all of Beckman’s athletic teams and clubs set up booths for interested incoming freshman. Tasks include: setting up; working the Baseball Booth by imparting information about the Baseball Program to prospective incoming freshmen and their families; selling Beckman Baseball merchandise at the booth; and cleaning up.

Year-End Banquet
|
This event date is TBA and will be held in the BHS Commons. Tasks include: arranging food, decorations; sending out invitations collecting RSVP’s and money; assisting in the preparation of the awards program; audio/visual needs, coordinating with the Booster President coaches’ gifts / recognition; assisting in setting up and cleaning up.
