Varsity Pitching Coast Zach Reeder

Background
Coach Reeder attended El Modena High School in Orange, California where he played 4 years of varsity baseball. After high school Coach Reeder completed his AA in Liberal Arts at Santiago Canyon College, his BA in Political Science at Cal St Fullerton and his Master of Education and Single Subject Teaching Credential at National University. Coach Reeder currently teaches US History at Servite High School.

Coaching Experience
Coach Reeder returns to Beckman's staff as varsity pitching coach for his second season, a position he previously held at Canyon High School.  Coach Reeder was part of Canyon's 2003 American Legion State Championship coaching staff as well as CIF playoff appearances.  He was also the Head Coach of the Anaheim Aces Baseball Club that won a USSSA 14-U State Championship.  Reeder has also been a private instructor and worked at the Cal St Fullerton Baseball Summer Camps.  He also has coached Basketball and Softball in the past.

Personal
Coach Reeder lives in Rancho Santa Margarita and is married to his wife Marie who is a Wedding and Event Coordinator at a local golf course. Coach Reeder has no kids yet but has two nephews JT (4) and Henry (3) who are already little sluggers. When not on the baseball field, Coach Reeder enjoys watching Hockey, listening to Country Music, cooking, eating Famous Amos cookies and his favorite of all...politics.

Varsity Assistant Coach Gregg Winger

Background
Gregg attended Canyon High School where he played three years at the Varsity level for Coach Lavalle.  His senior year, he was a member of the team that went to the CIF finals at Dodgers' Stadium, where they lost in a heart breaker.

After graduating from Canyon, he went on to play at Mt. Sac Junior College where he started at second base.  He has since transferred to Fullerton Junior College where he is red-shirting due to a knee injury.  He is majoring in criminology.

Coaching Experience
Coach Winger was an assistant coach for the 14U Tustin Titans last year and also Trombly Baseball.

Personal
Coach Winger lives in Orange and currently works at Chicks Sporting Goods in Yorba Linda.  When Gregg is not on the field or working, he likes to hang out with his brother and play golf.  He states, "Golfing helps me relax.  I enjoy watching hockey, college football and college basketball.  My favorite TV shows are Sportscenter and Tru TV.  I love country music and eating my mom's famour spaghetti."

Varsity Assistant Coach Dan Nevarez

Background
Dan attended Servite High School in Anaheim, CA, where he was a 3-year Varsity letterman, 2-year starter, and captain his senior season.  After high school, Dan went on to play baseball and earn his Bachelor's Degre from Chapman University, then his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School.  After spending time working in the professional sports industry, first at a leading sports agency and later at a sports media and marketing company, Dan returned to California.  He is now preparing for a more traditional legal career.  In the meantime, he is excited for the opportunity to return to the baseball diamond and share his knowledge with this year's varsity team, especially the catchers and outfielders.

Coaching Experience
This Coach Nevarez's second go around at coaching, having led the Servite Freshman team nearly ten years ago.  During his time playing for Chapman, he also coached youngsters at the Chapman Baseball Camps.

Personal
Coach Nevarez is single and lives in San Clemente.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.  He can often be found kayaking, playing dodgeball, jogging, catching a movie, and always following his beloved fighting Irish!

Junior Varsity Coach Ronnie Navarro

Freshman Coach John Pickert

Background
John grew up in Litchfield, CT and played 4 years of baseball for Litchfield H.S.  He also spent his summers playing American Legion baseball in CT.  John graduated from the University of Richmond in 1996 with a B.S. in Chemistry and the University of Rochester in 1998 with a M.S. in Chemistry.  After that John spent 10 years working for the New York City Chief Medical Examiner's Office, where he was involved in forensic DNA testing for the city (yes, like the CSI TV show, just not as glamorous or well paid).  John moved to Southern California in May of 2008  and is still getting used to the idea of baseball in the "winter".

Coaching Experience
This is John's first year as a baseball coach.  He has wanted to coach for some time but didn't have the opportunity until he left New York City and moved to California.  Despite lacking coaching experience, John has a strong knowledge of the game of baseball and is very excited about the opportunity to work with his coaching staff and players.

Personal
John and his wife Danielle live in Irvine.  They are expecting their first child, a boy, in March of this year.  When not working, John enjoys playing tennis, biking, and skiing.
